OPITO Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET) incl. EBS 5858
Objective
This Product provides learners with the opportunity to practise and demonstrate emergency response skills which are not possible to practise during drills, exercises and emergency training offshore.
Target Group
This training programme is designed to meet the initial offshore safety and emergency response training requirements for personnel new (or returning) to the offshore oil and gas industry who will be supplied with an emergency breathing system (EBS) during offshore helicopter travel
Prerequisites
Valid BOSIET certificate
Valid medical certificate AWMF-S1 (DGMM) or equivalent
Examination
Exam acc. OPITO.
Course Contents
The objectives of the FOET (with EBS) are that learners will be able to:
(a) Demonstrate, in a simulated environment, that they can use the safety equipment and follow procedures in preparing for and during helicopter emergencies – with particular focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching.
(b) Demonstrate that they can use basic firefighting equipment effectively, and use self-rescue techniques in low visibility and completely obscured visibility situations e.g. smoke-filled areas.
(c) Demonstrate that they can perform basic first aid.
